Bed Bug Heaters Explains the Types of Bed Bug Pest Control

Picture
Dealing with a bed bug infestation is difficult. The stress and physical discomfort of having bed bugs in your home can make you really desperate to find a solution. When it comes bed bug pest control, you have several options. Take some time to consider the details of the different options before you make a decision.

Which one is best? Should you rely on a chemical spray or poison? What about thermal bed bug pest control options? Bed Bug Heaters can help. In today’s blog, we take a look at the options and explain why thermal pest control is really your best choice for eliminating bed bugs.

Chemical Pesticides
There is a variety chemical pesticides available for killing bed bugs. In fact, the EPA has so far registered over 300 different pesticide products just for bed bug pest control. There are a few problems with pesticides or insecticides, however.

A big one is that the pesticides are not safe for use on mattresses, which is exactly where you need them the most. They’re also potentially harmful to you if you overuse them, and they are especially harmful for children, pets or anyone with respiratory problems.

Specific Powder Treatments
Powder treatments typically consist of something called diatomaceous earth, which is harmful to bed bugs. Unfortunately, if it’s used in open spaces, it quickly loses its potency. Not only that, but it takes a couple of days to actually take effect on the bed bugs themselves. Combining these two factors makes it extremely difficult to successfully eliminate the infestation, which ultimately means powder treatments just don’t work.

Bed Bug Traps
Bug traps of all kinds can be extremely effective. You can find pre-baited traps for bed bugs and many other household pests in almost any major supermarket. While they are easy to use and they do trap a lot of bugs, there is a problem. All it takes is a single female to avoid the trap and lay more eggs, and you have an infestation all over again. It might work to reduce the bed bug population, but it’s not likely to clear your house once and for all.

Mattress Casings
A mattress cover specifically designed as a form of bed bug pest control is a pretty good investment for protection. But, if you’re already dealing with an infestation, it’s unlikely to solve it. Bed bugs can survive for weeks without food, and taking the mattress cover off at any point means you may unwittingly just spread the infestation.

Thermal Treatments
Extreme cold and extreme heat are the safest, most consistent ways of eliminating bed bugs completely.  Thermal treatment offers an all-over solution that kills both the bugs and their eggs. Thermal treatment also presents no chemical or poison risk to you, your family, your pets or your property.

The Best in Bed Bug Pest Control

That's interesting how borescopes are used to determine and diagnose termite activity. It must be useful to use a tool that can be guided deep into foundational areas where people can't fit. My brother has a problem with termites in parts of his house, so he'll have to find some professionals to come in to find them and get rid of them

They both shown the chemical induced treatment and the heat induced treatment for bed bugs. Love your transparency. Bed bugs are really annoying. I have been bitten by those and you can;t sleep because of itch. With problems such as this, better call someone for help.

Heat treatments raise the temperature to 140F for three to six hours. The thermal death point of bed bugs in all life stages is 120F, making it effective for killing bed bug eggs, nymphs, and adults.

I do agree that it is in out best interest for us to ask the pest control company of the type of chemicals that they use to get rid off pests. I need to have bed bugs remedied. I will ask about the chemicals when I make my calls.

Thanks for the info about how there are a variety of chemical pesticides that are available for killing bed bugs. My mom went on a trip recently, and when she came home she discovered bed bugs. I'll tell my mom to hire a pest control service that uses chemical pesticides to kill bed bugs.

Thermal treatments are an alternative to toxic pesticides though they are also used in conjunction with chemicals. Bed bugs start to die when the ambient temperature reaches 113 F. The common target temperature is 120°F, causing bed bugs to die within minutes.

I've been having issues with bed bugs in my home, and I'm not sure how to fix it. It makes sense that using the proper kind of pesticides would be important! I'll be sure to get a professional to help me out with this, because I don't know what kind of pesticide to use.

I liked it when you shared that it is great to find the right solution to your bed bug infestation so you can ease your mind. My friend just mentioned the other day that she is concerned about her son who has been bitten by bed bugs since last month. I will suggest to her looking for a reliable pest control service that can provide the necessary treatment to get rid of the pests.

I had no idea that extreme cold and hot temperatures are the safest ways to eliminate bed bugs. I think my son has bed bugs in his room. Hopefully, we can get a professional out here and they can help with it.
